2003 marked the fourth year in which the Commission participated in this pilot project. HRHC personnel carry out compliance inspections in apartment buildings, schools/childcare centers, food establishments, and works with landscapers. A major goal of the pest control program was to increase the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in schools and childcare facilities. The Commission identified and worked closely with two school districts and a childcare facility in conjunction with the NJDEP. Dramatic improvements in pest control practices were noted without increasing the use of pesticides. |
