Pandemic Preparedness Planning
·
Do you really know how to cough and sneeze? - Why Dont We Do It in Our Sleeves?
In the event of pandemic influenza, government, businesses,
and individuals play a key role to limit negative impacts on health, the
economy and society. Planning for pandemic influenza is critical.
Community strategies that delay or reduce the impact of a
pandemic (also called non-pharmaceutical interventions) may help reduce the
spread of disease until a vaccine is available.
Planning
prior to an event is ideal. We do not know if the current outbreak will become
a pandemic but developing or refining plans is critical before it does.
